Editing Infrared image with RawTherapee, an open source raw image editor. RawTherapee is the default RAW convertor for GIMP and also a stand-alone program. It's an excellent tool for editing Infrared images.
RawTherapee has a feature that will attempt to remove PDAF horizontal banding issues that sometimes occur in certain cameras. I have a Nikon Z6 which occasionally generates very faint traces of this banding. It is a known issue with the Z6 (and I assume the Z7) which have been converted to IR. I have a full spectrum Z6. The banding is a result of the firmware processing in the camera and there is hope that eventually this will be fixed. It has not been addressed as of yet. RawTherapee has a how to article on it's support pages on how to use this on a Z6. It works fairly well. Not perfect. I also use Topaz Denoise AI with the AI Clear model and it does about as good a job. I only use RawTherapee for this function. My preferred Raw processor is Capture One.
